Therapy in San Francisco, CA
Anxiety doesn’t always show up in obvious ways.
Sometimes it’s constant overthinking. Sometimes it’s a feeling in your body you can’t quite turn off. Your mind keeps going, even when you’re trying to rest. You replay conversations, question yourself, or feel on edge without a clear reason.
It becomes something you carry with you throughout the day lurking under the surface.
You’re used to pushing through. You get things done. You show up. But internally, there’s tension, pressure, and a sense that you’re always trying to keep up with your own thoughts. After a while, it’s not just tiring—it starts to feel like this is just how things are.

Hi, I’m Kimberly Rudy, LCSW (#70251)
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Francisco. My therapeutic approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing from several evidence-based approaches, including:

What It’s Like to Work With Me
Therapy with me is very real, warm, and genuine.
While we may talk about difficult things, sessions are not just heavy all the time. A lot of clients are surprised that we actually laugh together sometimes—even in the middle of talking about hard stuff.
I’m pretty down-to-earth in how I work. Our conversations are natural and real. I’ll ask questions, share observations, and help you sort through things that might feel confusing or overwhelming.
My goal is to create a space where you don’t feel like you have to perform or pretend you're okay.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that therapy with me feels like a real conversation rather than something stiff or clinical.
Most importantly, therapy becomes a place where you don’t have to carry everything alone anymore.
Over the years, I have supported many women through anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, burnout, and major life transitions. What I continue to see is how powerful it can be when a woman finally has the space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with her own strength and intuition.
The Work We Do in Therapy
Therapy isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about helping you feel less anxious and more in control over time.
It’s about understanding what’s underneath it.
We start by slowing things down—looking at patterns, reactions, and the ways you’ve learned to cope. We pay attention to both your thoughts and what’s happening in your body, so you can begin to recognize anxiety as it shows up instead of feeling overtaken by it.
We also spend time understanding the different parts of you—the ones that push, worry, or shut down—and begin to relate to them in a different way.
Alongside that, we build practical tools you can use in your everyday life so you’re not just understanding your anxiety—you’re experiencing some relief from it.
At the heart of my work is a deep belief that women carry incredible resilience — even during times when life feels overwhelming. Therapy can be a place where you reconnect with that strength and begin creating a life that feels more authentic and aligned with who you truly are.
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a vulnerable step, and it’s completely okay if you’re unsure where to begin.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out so we can talk.
